Villafranca in the distance as we begin our climb. Headed to La Faba so as to cut our big climb. Spain is in a heatwave. It is affecting pilgrims by rearranging our walking goals and routines. I have met pilgrims who have started walking at night to miss the heat.
The albergue in La Faba was a welcome sight after the day’s climb. It is run by German volunteers. They were among the most gracious and attentive hosts I have encountered on the Camino. The church was amazing for the size of the village. There was a beautiful blessing of pilgrims service in the evening.
Several of our pilgrim group chose to cook together. It was a fun change of pace. Great conversation and wonderful food.
Big fan of La Faba. It was a great way to cut a long climb in half. And it let us arrive at the top early and gave us a great view. Will share in next posting.
