Villafranca del Bierzo

Another early morning… started walking at 6:00am trying to beat the heat. We bid farewell to Paul from Ireland as he leaves The Way to return to work. Had dinner with his sister and her friend who continue the journey.

Had some beautiful views today. The mountains and vineyards were beautiful. The random snakes (both dead and alive) were less enjoyable.

It was a long day from Molinaseca to Villafranca. We walked over 32km (over 20miles) today. Arriving at 4pm to our hostel was tough. Many thanks to my pilgrim friends for encouraging me. We all worked together. Clayton (Australia) was our groups sunscreen director haha. The heat rose to well over 30C.

Arriving in Villafranca was our reward. This is the view from my room. Tomorrow is a light 24km, but concludes with a 320meter (1050foot) climb, or that is our goal.
