Today my son turns 17! And he landed in Paris with a group from Edwardsville High School! What a day! While walking the Camino, I was able to arrange for these macaroons to be delivered to his hotel. He was thankful they were not delivered in front of the whole group. My pilgrim pals have been asking for updates on the macaroons and were pleased with Joseph’s photo.
Today I walked to Bercianos Del Real Camino. It was a nice walk with sunshine and breeze. A shepherd was bringing sheep down the path I walked. I made certain the sheep dogs were between me and the sheep. Apparently sheep dogs like it that way. When I have better WiFi, I will upload video.
Conversation among pilgrims has changed a bit. Now that we are past the halfway point, there is reflection how long ago the start seems to be. Our thoughts are increasingly on the end. We are just over two weeks away from Santiago de Compostela.
Much walking till then. We reach León in two days. The flat meseta will be behind us. We were blessed with cool weather for our walk through the shadeless meseta. Beyond León lie some all day climbs and steep descents.
Buen Camino!
